Bakhtiar rugs are woven by the villagers and nomads in the Chahar Mahal region of south and central Persia. Most of their works geometric that are colourful bright designs such as parallel garden, along with central medallion and tree of life schemes. The pieces are woven using the symmetrical, but vary in knot density, knot count being between 60 and 200 knots per square inch. They are extremely durable and goes well with both modern and traditional settings
