Gazak rugs are hand knotted by ethnic people of Tajikistan, This group of weavers formerly use to be part of the Soviet Central Asia region but originate from ethnic nomadic Persian. The Gazak rugs, runners and carpets are also knotted in Persia, Pakistan and India using  hand spun wool with colours being from purely vegetable dyes.
