About Persian Kashan

Kashan rugs are very firm due to their very dense asymmetrical knots. The Kashan rugs can be woven using either cotton or silk foundation with between 200 to 400 Persian knots per square inch, and for pure silk up to 600 or more. These rugs are made from a very high quality wool taken from lambs' necks to weave these rugs and the wool pile in the designs are normally clip quite low. The ground colour is usually either blue or red and the designs varied in colour.
