About Tabriz
Tabriz rugs are generally made around the town of Tabriz in the Azerbaijan district of North-West Persia. They are usually woven on cotton foundations (although silk are sometime used in the finest weaver) and are normally between 80 to 400 turkish knots per square inch. The maku wool which are local are very strong, however a little coarse, but contribute to make the better carpet more sturdy
