Description
Moud (Mud, Mood)
These rugs, produced in the province of Khorasan in north-eastern Iran, are finely woven with a short pile. Their design general consists of an intricate version of the Herati pattern on a white or blue field, with or without central medallions.
Rugs from Moud have cotton warps and double wefts. They come in sizes that range from 5×3 to 18×12 feet. They are usually fairly expensive, in fact, the name Moud is sometimes used to describe the best-quality rugs of the whole Khorasan district.
